Storage and Handling

How to look after OSB

  • Where possible, stack boards flat off the ground by at least 150-200mm, on a flat and level surface
  • Leave plastic packaging on and cover if storing outside
  • Preferably store them in a closed, dry building away from rain and accidental wetting
  • Use battens for stacking that are of equal thickness and centres directly above and below each other and not more than 600mm, or 400mm for 9mm panels as per recommendations

How to avoid damage

  • If laying boards on wet sites, protect joints and edges from dirt, moisture and debris.
  • Cut any bands on boards as soon as possible to limit any damage or warping
Protect the edges and use suitable coverings when transporting boards
